Everyone is itching for the outdoors! We’re ready! Ready to stretch, play, and explore. The adrenaline and satisfaction of a good adventure has become too distant of a memory for many of us, but with this event, we’re taking it upon ourselves to help renew that intrinsic desire to be outside.
We're collaborating with Maine Outdoor Brands, jumping on their newly launched Adventure Local Maine campaign and giving it a bit of an ocean spin! We're pleased to convene a collection of outdoor-minded companies and entrepreneurs to share a bit about how they're emerging for summer, and in particular, creative ways we can all feed our passions during World Oceans and Great Outdoors Month. We're thrilled to also feature a Maine Outdoor Film Festival screening and a giveaway with Rugged Seas. We hope you can join us!

To celebrate World Oceans and Great Outdoors Month, we want to give you a one-of-a-kind Rugged Seas backpack and clutch. Heading into the outdoors requires great gear no matter what the activity may be, but in this case, there is more than meets the eye. Each bag is made using retired commercial fishing bibs, an inspiring commitment to waste stream utilization that adds value to the final product and tells a truly authentic story.
All you have to do is register and you'll be entered to win, and we'll announce the lucky recipient during the fireside chat on Wednesday June 24th.
The “Entrepreneurship in the Blue Economy” series was created to share the stories of ocean-focused ventures in Maine. As is true with business incubation in general, this series endeavors to give both budding and established businesspeople a platform to share their story, an opportunity to cite particular areas of need, and an environment to connect with a supportive and engaged audience. Each meeting will vary in size and location, particularly as we navigate COVID-19, but all will weave together elements of experiential learning, open discussion, and professional networking into a dynamic session. With this series, the New England Ocean Cluster and its presenting sponsors the University of Maine Graduate & Professional Center and Eaton Peabody are seeking to initiate a dialog that is inclusive, supportive of growth, and fostering of strong relationships.
